hows it going, ive been riding since i was about 12 when i bought a honda dirt bike. i recently got back into riding when i bought a buell blast in 2002 to see if i still liked it. in 2005 i bought my 2006 cbr600rr and love it. Im not too technical with bikes, just really enjoy riding.
i now need to replace the battery was just going to grab one from Batteries Plus, model XTAZ10S and wanted to make sure this would be ok. Dealer wanted $237 bucks for one as i took it in first to make sure it was not electrical and was truly the battery. The above mentioned model was only $79 so it seems too good to be true. i tried to do a search here but only found info on the regulator problem that can affect batteries.
thanks everyone for any insight

Why do you need a new battery? was the bike sitting for a while without a tender or something?
Dont pay a dealer to do it if its a simple battery replacement. Buy a stock battery from somewhere and throw it in yourself.

This question is in the wrong topic and is strange. Are you saying you need to replace the battery and was quoted $237 but on Batteries Plus they are only charging $79?

Why do you need a new battery? Have you tired to recharge it w/ a Battery Tender?

Here's the thread I made about the regulator / rectifier issue

You probably want to re-charge the battery first, and test it out, before trying to replace it. Chas also posted a good post about testing the battery and the charging system. Yeah, 50-80 for a motorcycle is about the right price

I would get a battery tender and charge it til the light goes green solid. Note that the bett tender can be deceiving however...I've had it register a full charge on batteries that would not hold a charge or enough juice to start the bike. If its NOT a maintenance free battery, make sure you have enough water in it - usually use distilled water and fill to bottom of filler hole in each cell. But yeah, about 70 bux for a gel cell china battery is right. A Yuasa gas-mat style battery will run you more, like $125-150
