Needed something for the track and decided to give this Generator a try.
I ended up using my credit card points and got a gift certificate at Amazon.com so essentially it was free :smile

I was thinking the Honda Eu2000 but that was twice the cost and this little unit has a higher output 1,600 compared to 1,500 with a peak of 1,800

Got it a couple days ago and just got around to unpacking it and starting today.

Cost: $499 shipped (Retails for a few hundred more)
Actual Weight: 54lbs w/oil (no gas)

Initial impressions:
Very well packed and came with clear instructions in English, a plastic bottle thingy, jumper cables & a nice tool kit.
Not as heavy as I thought, weighed it and it's at about 54 lbs w/oil

After unpacking it said to top off the oil as they don't want to ship it full.
There is a smart idle that raises the RPM's when a load is applied. Or you can go old school and let it run at a high RPM the whole time (I turn off smart idle in video). It's got nice little rubber dealios on the feet that minimize vibrations.
Starts on one pull which is awesome and as you can tell by the video I did it with one hand & minimal effort. But then again, thnx to 101lifts workout tips.. I prolly owe that to him :notooth

I am very surprised at how quiet it was. It sounds much louder on the video I took but I assure you it is way quieter than many I have heard at the track. I'm sure the acoustics's next to my house and under my awning didn't help the noise :smile

Anyways.. glad I could be the guinie pig, will do another write up or just add to this thread when I use it at the track for my tire warmers. Probably not anytime soon though as it's pretty damn hot out and I wont need to worry about warmers.

But I do have a peace of mind now, if Zee Germans ever attack and we lose power... I got me something!!!

Figured I'd go out and test it with my warmers for a few seconds.
The idle raised as it should and both warmers were noticeably warm to the touch with even just a few seconds of being plugged in.
So far so good...
