Honda OEM Oil Filter- $14.99 after tax.
3 quarts Honda 10W-30 oil- $15.49 after tax
After riding your bike to get parts then burning your arm and hand on headers and filter trying to change your oil filter by hand- Priceless.

Here's my sign. LOL!:loser

Uh yeah...the whole "let it cool down" thing is so over-rated. Real Rydurz have scars to prove they are hardcore.

I used a Pipe wrench and hammer and a Flt head screwdriver with a jack hammer to get the filter off finally. What do they use at the factory to put these things on?

man i really loved my old FZ6 - filter on the right side sticking straight out. no fairings to remove. fairings blow chux, i broke the front tab off the fairing the first time i tried to take the thing apart for oil change and just about everyone i know has done the same thing. they should just put a little access hatch on the filter side so you can take it off.

FWIW, I have heard (though not tried myself) that you can do the 07-08 filter change without removing fairing by fishing it out between headers a certain way. That is, if its COLD and the filter isn't torqued on so tight you cant get it loose.

Another thing - I pay the few extra $$ for the K&N filter at Cyclegear, cause its got a socket attachment on the end to loosen it with a wrench. well worth it when the thing is too tight for an oil filter wrench.
