View Full Version : 2008 CBR600RR Spinning your bike on kickstand
I don't know if any of you ever had this done, but when I brought my Honda 2008 CBR600 to the dealer, I saw the technician spin my cycle on it's kickstand. I was so angry because all that weight on the frame, I am worried my frame could have gotten bent. I know Ducaties have had kickstad tabs bent from people doing same thing, not sure if frame got bent however.

I do it all the time on my bikes. I think the side stand will snap way before the frame is bent.

i do it probably twice daily- i agree with vtech, the kickstand will bend/break waaaaayyy before your frame. i really would not be worried about them doing this... with all the mass-centralization, it's really easy to do since everything's so balanced. i also refrain from taking the bike to any dealers, but then i actually enjoy maintenance and get excited about upcoming valve adjustments, fluid bleeds/flushes etc... :lmfao i'm addicted to the satisfaction of DIY maintenance. your bike is more durable than you think.
Hey Dr. Gofast, thanks for the info about how kickstand will break off before frame does. But today I did something stupid, I rolled my bike down the sloped driveway and when I hit flat ground, the rear wheel hopped about an inch off the ground when my kickstand was still down! OK I can maybe see frame being able to support weight of bike, but when a really hard tap from smacking it on the ground, I wonder if that could tweak the frame.

I rode off with my bike once like that, in front of everyone like an idiot. It's still fine. :D
