Well, finally moved into my new place and had some time to tackle the project of cleaning up the back end of my '07.

I'm using the Hangar integrated tailight - very easy to install. http://hangarrd.com/index2.html

The license bracket is an MSR shift lever Part number 34-2141, made for Suzuki RMZ250 dirt bike. http://www.oakleysport.com/productdetail.htm?productId=4737522&catalogId=737#206664

The license lights are "BoltFX", found at cyclegear. Be sure to get white color version. I've since shortened the mounting shaft on these for a cleaner underside. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=BUZ_1043558_G&tier2=81

Polished the stock can - no $$ for an aftermarket yet. I used Mother's metal polish on a cloth buffing wheel attached to a drill (exhaust removed from bike) http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MRS&MfrPartNumber=05148&CategoryCode=3303

Removed the heat shield and applied foil tape to the underside of the tray.

Sorry I don't have install pix, but here's the final product.

Did you polish the stock exhaust yourself? That's a pretty creative project. I would have gone with HomeDepot's aluminum brackets (but that will sacrifice the look a bit). Not bad for around $50. :thumb

I polished the stock cans with Mother's metal polish - its a liquid polish that I've used on SS headers before with good results. The cans are holding up really well - now about 3 weeks and they are still shiny with no browning. Used a cloth buffing wheel on the end of a drill (with exhaust removed from bike). (link added)

Oh wow, that's really good stuff. I mean if you can use it on a header, it shouldn't be a problem with the exhaust can. How long did it take you to polish the can? I may try it on an extra one I have.

your can is blinding.

Ya, bro..its all about teh bling. j/k

ya, one of the side effects of this whole deal is that the light from the license bounces up in there and makes a mirror image of the tag. Wonder if I can get a ticket for that...(shrug)

Polishing it out is no big deal - seriously it might take you one beer and its done.

Dude, goood shet! I think I'ma have to recreate some of that work you did. & cover up that license plate when you're posting pics of it. I heard somewhere that you shouldn't be showin' plate #'s on public forums...

Also, how do you like the integrated tail lights... the one thing I like about the stock ones is that it's bright as hell at night so cars can see you from a mile away when you get on and off your brakes. Do you loose any of that?

Thanks, mang. Yep, its still holding up better than I thought...if I had access to a welder I would have welded the license tab to the lever/bracket and may still do that. I still think the 07 600 tailight is hideous - now every time i see my bike i want to hump her.

As for the integrated light, I really like it and it is as bright as I can imagine a light that's so small can be. There's no substitute for the stock in terms of daytime visibility, but this light is pretty freakin bright. I'll try and grab some side-by-side pix next time I'm next to another 07 CBR. It might be just as bright..?

The only downside is that I bought an early pre-production unit from the guys at Hangar and have had it fail on me twice. They are good on their word and have replaced it both times, and they have also simplified the unit a whole lot on the latest production model which I think will increase reliability.

Mother fffffffffffffffffffffffffff!!!:flame3

Damn it... that's $200 plus the plate holder, plus the lights... damn hondas making cleaning up the fender so damn expensive. My friend's gixxer 750... he took a hack saw to the tail and it looks sweet. puhahahaha.

Welp guys... doesn't look like I'll be putting together my fender eliminator kit for a while... unless someone wants to sponsor me!!!
