What's the best recommendation for ticket package? Get Sunday only? What turn? Camp at track or elsewhere? I need info fast!

The last 3 years I went, I got the 2 day ticket. Look at everything on Saturday and watch the race on Sunday. I prefer turn 11 grandstand seats. You can see the start/finish line, the paddock and the podium. You also have "Seca Vision" (at least that's what I call it.) Turn 4 also has the Seca Vision.

Paddock passes are cool. You can camp out and get autographs. I've gotten Nicky Hayden's all three years. Also got Marco Melandri's, Tamada's, Edwards, Stoner's, KR Jr. and some others. Rossi is hard to get to.

There's also the Red Peferred Motorcycle Parking tickets. It's close to the Turn 11 seats. There's also free motorcycle parking. Last year the peeps w/ the free parking didn't park too far from us. Made the Red parking passes pretty much worthless. If you get the parade lap, you get a pakring pass w/ that. So it may be worth it. Parade lap is on Saturday.

As for camping, if you do tent, you're subjected to the weather. Camper style would be much better. 2 years ago, it hit the 100's. Last year was in the 70's. You have to be back into the campgrounds by 10 PM. So no late night at Cannery Row for you. But you can get drunk at the track and stumble around. That's fun.

I'd get rooms in Monterey, but they may be expensive now. They like to raise the prices. I reserved my rooms last year in July. Pacific Groove is nice. Salinas is a shit hole.

Still haven't decided if I'm gonna go this year. Probably will. Just haven't purchased my tickets yet.

Ive heard that rooms are ridiculous and hard to come by now, so looks like camping for me. Is the crowd around the track pretty crazy at night.,...as in, no sleep? If so, I will camp elsewhere cause I actually want to be semi awake and want to be able to ride my bike around. I know there is a campsite just up the road at Toro Park..have some friends that live across the street in the houses there and maybe they would be cool with letting me camp their back yard...hmmm, better get on this.

Ehh only been once and I enjoyed it.....thanx to a couple friends and a "sponser" I did not pay for a room. I am not sure if I would go again, it is a huge pain but you need to go at least once in your life. I would go again if I was with a good group of people to make the trip awesome!!

First year I drove and it was a huge clusterfuck. Great time but took forever to move around in a car. Weather was nice.

Second year, we trucked the bikes up. Hot as hell that year. Bus system was an even bigger clusterfuck. Glad I got a special pass that year.

Last year, we rode the bikes up. Long ass ride. Weather was nice and it didn't seem as crowded. Actually had a lot of fun. Makes me lean towards going again.

My camping isn't really camping since its in a toy hauler and I have a few home amenities, BUT staying at the track is a blast!

Being in the center of the activities and waking up to the view of the track is fantastic.

Sure Saturday night can be loud with some other campers but if you are looking for a good night sleep then find the Hilton.....if not....grab a 6 pack and walk to the next camp site and meet a few new friends and enjoy the experience.
