I'm looking to replace my stock shield on my Arai. What exactly are tear off posts?

Tear off posts are posts on the visors that'll allow you to put tear off's on them.

Street riders, heck most road racers don't need tear-offs.

They've come in handy for me when i'm dirtbiking, but that's only because my goggles came free with a set, I wouldn't buy 'em.

And I don't know about the Arai ones, but the Shoei ones that I had make a weird buzzing noise at speed.
