i have the full spectrum of musical appetite...most of which fits well into my lifestyle in one way or another. i just can't take rap/hip hop as i simply cannot relate and wont try to. country has alot of good messages and values that are projected through the music...stuff like that is contagious just like being around people with a good attitude and outlook on life.

I really like this Aussie hip-hop group called The Herd... and lately I've been listening to a lot of the Anticon guys.

I think people who exclude 'hip-hop/rap' and categorize it as one thing haven't heard a lot of what's out there, esp. the underground stuff that actually takes some brains and musicality/verbal ability to create.

Of course, some here can attest to the unfortunate fact i also bump pharaoh monch when no one's around... :cool

I grew up on 70's/80's punk. I remember getting dragged to see Redd Kross at The Cathay when I was about 14. My older brother took me to shows...I remember seeing Nip Drivers open up for them. Their claim to fame was they played the world fastest version of Duran Duran's "Rio." Freakin' HILARIOUS. IIRC, it was about 30 seconds long...
